WALK_EXAMPLE(1)
NAME
walk_example - example of traversing a BRL-CAD database hierarchy
On this page
SYNOPSIS
DESCRIPTION
walk_example is a sample application that demonstrates how to traverse a
portion of a BRL-CAD geometry database using the librt(3) function
db_walk_tree(). It builds a directory index for the database input.g
and then walks the directed acyclic graph rooted at each named object
(tree top), invoking callback routines as regions, the ends of regions,
and leaf primitives are encountered.
The program itself performs no useful work beyond illustrating the traversal mechanism; the leaf callback contains stub cases showing where per-primitive processing (for example of BOT and ARB8 primitives) would be added. It is intended as a starting point for writing custom database parsers and analysis tools.
At least one object name must be supplied in addition to the database file.
OPTIONS
- -h
-
Print a usage message and exit.
- -d hexflags
-
Set the internal debug flags to the given hexadecimal value. When the name-printing bit is set, the name of each region and leaf is echoed as it is visited during the traversal.
