WINDOW_FRAME(1)
NAME
window_frame - create a BRL-CAD geometry database of rounded window frames
On this page
SYNOPSIS
DESCRIPTION
window_frame creates a BRL-CAD .g geometry database containing one or more window frames with rounded edges and corners. Each frame is built from four arb8s and eight cylinders. The front face of a frame is centered at the origin (0, 0, 0) and the frame extends in the negative X direction by its depth.
Up to 256 identically sized frames may be generated in a single run. All dimensions are in millimeters. If invoked with no arguments, window_frame prints usage information and prompts interactively for each parameter; otherwise the values are taken from the command-line options below. Each option’s value must be attached directly to its flag with no intervening space (for example -H1618, not -H 1618). Unspecified numeric values default to zero.
The resulting geometry can be inspected or rendered with the usual BRL-CAD tools such as mged(1) and rt(1).
OPTIONS
- *-f*name.g
-
Name of the BRL-CAD .g database to create (256 characters max).
- *-n*#
-
Number of window frames to create (up to 256).
- *-H*#
-
Height of the window frame in millimeters.
- *-w*#
-
Width of the window frame in millimeters.
- *-d*#
-
Depth of the window frame in millimeters.
- *-r*#
-
Radius of the rounded corners in millimeters.
- *-i*#
-
Actual width of the frame material itself in millimeters.
- -h, -?
-
Print a help/usage message and exit.
EXAMPLES
window_frame -fwin.g -n1 -H1618 -w1000 -d100 -r50 -i75
rt -o win.png -s 1024 win.g wfra
The first command writes win.g containing a single 1618 mm by 1000 mm frame, 100 mm deep, with 50 mm rounded corners and 75 mm of frame material. The second command raytraces the generated group wfra (the first frame’s group) to a 1024x1024 image win.png.
