LIBGCV(3)

Link with -lgcv.

The public interface is organized across the headers included by gcv.h, namely gcv/defines.h, gcv/util.h, and gcv/api.h.

LIBGCV is BRL-CAD’s geometry conversion library. It provides a common framework for importing geometry into, and exporting geometry from, the BRL-CAD geometry database (.g) format. Conversion is handled by a set of plugins, each of which registers support for one or more external file formats; the library discovers and dispatches to the appropriate plugin based on the requested conversion.

The API defines a filter and context model that lets applications enumerate available converters, set per-format options, and drive import, export, and in-memory conversion operations in a uniform way. This is the machinery underlying command-line converters and the general-purpose gcv geometry conversion tool.

The complete API, including data structures and function signatures, is documented in the headers noted above and in the Doxygen-generated reference for the LIBGCV module.
