E(nged)

NAME

E - Display objects in evaluated form.

On this page

SYNOPSIS

E [-C r/g/b] [-s] object(s)

DESCRIPTION

The E command draws one or more objects using Boolean evaluation. Unlike draw (which displays each primitive as a wireframe regardless of Boolean operators), E evaluates the Boolean tree of the object hierarchy using NMG (Non-Manifold Geometry) operations and displays only the resulting evaluated solid regions. This makes E significantly more computationally intensive than draw for complex hierarchies.

Options

-C r/g/b

Override the display color for all drawn objects using the specified RGB values (each 0–255), separated by /.

-s

Enable shading on the evaluated result display.

Note
E is distinct from the lowercase e command (which erases objects from the display). On case-insensitive filesystems this page is stored as bigE.adoc to avoid collision with e.adoc.

EXAMPLES

Example 1. Display the evaluated result of a region tree.

mged> E -s suspension.r

Evaluates the booleans in suspension.r and displays a more accurate faceted approximation of the resulting volume.
