bot_fuse [-s|-p] new_bot old_bot
BOT_FUSE(nged)
NAME
bot_fuse - fuse duplicate vertices and faces in a BOT mesh
On this page
SYNOPSIS
DESCRIPTION
The bot_fuse command removes duplicate vertices and faces from the BOT (Bag-of-Triangles) primitive named old_bot and writes the result as a new BOT named new_bot. The original object is not modified.
Duplicate vertices that are within the database tolerance are merged into a single vertex. Duplicate faces (triangles with the same three vertex indices) are similarly fused.
After fusing, open edges (edges shared by only one face) may be detected. The optional -s and -p flags control how open edges are reported:
Options
- -s
-
Show open edges by drawing them in the display as colored lines after the operation.
- -p
-
Plot open edges to a temporary plot file for subsequent inspection.
Without either flag, open edge detection runs silently and results are not visualized.
EXAMPLES
mged> bot_fuse clean_hull.bot raw_hull.bot
Fuses duplicate vertices and faces in raw_hull.bot and writes the cleaned result to clean_hull.bot.
mged> bot_fuse -s clean_hull.bot raw_hull.bot
Fuses the BOT and then highlights any open edges in the display.
