DATA_LINES(nged)
NAME
data_lines - Manage an arbitrary line set attached to the current view.
On this page
SYNOPSIS
DESCRIPTION
The data_lines command manages a view-associated line set that is not tied to database geometry. It is useful for temporary guide lines, annotations, and other visual overlays.
The command accepts the following subcommands:
- draw
-
Report or set whether the line set should be drawn.
- color
-
Report or set the RGB color used for the line set.
- line_width
-
Report or set the line width.
- points
-
Report or set the Tcl-style list of line endpoints. Points are consumed in pairs, so the list must contain an even number of 3D points.
- snap
-
Report or set the current view’s line-snapping flag.
The same functionality is also available through the view data_lines …
command form.
The related sdata_lines command uses the same subcommands on a separate line set maintained by the current view.
EXAMPLES
mged> data_lines points {{0 -1000 0} {0 1000 0} {100 -1000 0} {100 1000 0}} mged> data_lines color 255 0 0 mged> data_lines line_width 100 mged> data_lines draw 1
Defines two vertical guide lines, colors them red, sets a wider line width, and turns drawing on for the line set.
