On this page

SYNOPSIS

eye_pt
eye_pt mx my mz
eye_pt "mx my mz"

DESCRIPTION

The eye_pt command is an alias for the eye command. It positions the view’s "eye" point (the camera location) at the specified model coordinates.

The command supports three modes of operation: * If no arguments are provided, it returns the current model coordinates of the eye point. * If three numerical arguments (mx my mz) are provided, the eye point is translated to those exact coordinates. * If a single string containing three space-separated numbers ("mx my mz") is provided, it parses the string and moves the eye point to those coordinates.

EXAMPLES

Example 1. Query the current eye location

mged> eye_pt

Returns the current X, Y, and Z model coordinates of the eye point.

Example 2. Move the eye to a specific coordinate

mged> eye_pt 100 0 0

Positions the camera eye point precisely at the model’s (100, 0, 0) coordinates.
