FIND_BOT_EDGE(nged)

NAME

find_bot_edge - find and identify a BOT (Bag of Triangles) edge

On this page

SYNOPSIS

find_bot_edge bot "view_x view_y view_z"

DESCRIPTION

The find_bot_edge command searches a BOT (Bag of Triangles) primitive and identifies the edge that is closest to a given view coordinate.

If successful, the command returns two integers: 1. The numeric ID of the first vertex (vi1) forming the edge. 2. The numeric ID of the second vertex (vi2) forming the edge.

The arguments are: * bot : The name of the BOT primitive to search. * "view_x view_y view_z" : A single quoted string containing the X, Y, and Z coordinates (in view space) to test against.

EXAMPLES

Example 1. Identify a BOT edge near a view coordinate

mged> find_bot_edge bot.s "0 0 1"

Searches bot.s for an edge that is closest to the view coordinate (0, 0, 1) and returns the IDs of the two vertices forming that edge.
