glob "command_string"
GLOB(nged)
NAME
glob - returns a list of objects specified by expression
On this page
SYNOPSIS
DESCRIPTION
The glob command takes a quoted MGED command string and performs wildcard expansion (globbing) on its arguments against the BRL-CAD database.
It matches patterns using *, ?, and [ ] syntax. Note that the first word of the provided string (typically the command name itself) is explicitly skipped and will not be expanded. The command returns the expanded command string.
The glob command is an exact alias for the db_glob command.
EXAMPLES
Example 1. Expand a list command with wildcards
mged> glob "l r23[0-9]"
Returns a command string where the wildcard is expanded to match database objects, such as: l r230 r231 r232.
