SELECT(nged)

NAME

select - Returns displayed items or BOT vertices within a specified screen-space region.

SYNOPSIS

select [-b bot] [-p] [-z vminz] vx vy {vr | vw vh}

DESCRIPTION

Returns the displayed items within a specified selection area. The area may be given either as a circle with center vx vy and radius vr, or as a rectangle with origin vx vy and width/height vw vh.

The implementation supports the following options:

  • -b bot - Return BOT vertex indices from the specified BOT instead of displayed object paths.

  • -p - Use partial-overlap selection instead of requiring full containment.

  • -z vminz - Ignore candidates with view-space Z values below vminz.

EXAMPLES

The example shows a circular selection.

Example 1. Select displayed items around a screen-space point.

mged>select 0.1 0.2 0.05

Returns the displayed items inside the specified circular selection region.
