tops [-a] [-h] [-n] [-p]
TOPS(nged)
NAME
tops - Displays a list of all the _top-level_ objects in the current database.
On this page
SYNOPSIS
DESCRIPTION
Displays the top-level objects in the current database. Top-level objects are objects not referenced by any other combination. In most BRL-CAD databases, this usually includes one or more assembly objects near the root of the model hierarchy.
By default, tops lists only non-hidden top-level database objects. The output is sorted alphabetically and formatted in columns. Combination names are decorated with a trailing /, and region names are decorated with a trailing R; region combinations therefore typically appear with /R.
The following options are supported:
-
-a - List all top-level objects, including hidden objects and phony directory entries.
-
-h - List only hidden top-level objects.
-
-n - Suppress the default
/andRoutput decorations. -
-p - List only phony top-level directory entries.
The -h and -p filters may be combined to include both hidden and phony top-level entries. If -a is specified, it overrides those filters and reports all top-level entries.
