On this page

SYNOPSIS

who [[real] | [phony] | [both]]
who solids [level]

DESCRIPTION

Lists the top-level objects that are currently displayed. The phony flag asks for just phony objects. Phony objects are typically objects that are drawn in the MGED display, but are not actual database objects. Some phony objects are drawings from the vdraw command and the edgeuses drawn by the ev -u command. The real flag asks for just real objects, and the both flag asks for both real and phony objects. The default is just real objects. Any of the flags may be abbreviated by its first letter.

The solids subcommand reports the fully expanded set of displayed solids. The optional level controls how much detail is shown. A level of -2 or less prints only primitive names, -1 prints full paths, 0 adds illumination state, 1 adds center/size/region/color information, 2 adds vector-list counts, and 3 or greater adds the vector-list commands themselves. The solid_report and x commands remain available as compatibility aliases for this detailed report.

EXAMPLES

The examples show a typical discovery flow: start with who to see which top-level objects are drawn, then switch to who solids when you need the expanded solid paths and per-solid details.

Example 1. List the top-level objects that are currently displayed.

mged>who

Example 2. List the displayed solids with path and per-solid detail information.

mged>who solids 1

Lists each displayed solid path and reports center, size, region, and color data.
